Terms of Service
Last updated: 18 August 2026
These terms apply when you request a free collection through townsvilletechrecyclers.com ("the Service"), operated by Townsville Tech Recyclers & Data Destruction ("we", "us"). By submitting a request you agree to these terms.
The Service
We offer free collection of computers, laptops, monitors, servers, hard drives and other e-waste in Townsville and North Queensland, for homes and businesses. Collection is free of charge. We do not collect general household rubbish, furniture, whitegoods, green waste, or anything unrelated to computers and electronics.
Confirming a Pickup
Every request is reviewed against the photos and description you provide before we confirm a pickup. We reserve the right to decline or cancel a collection if the items are not genuine e-waste, are unsafe to handle, or differ materially from what was described or photographed.
Data Destruction Add-On
A basic hard drive wipe is included free with every collection. Physical destruction of hard drives, with a certificate of destruction, is an optional paid add-on priced at $15 per hard drive plus $30 per certificate (each certificate covers up to 10 drives). Pricing is confirmed with you before the service is carried out.
Beyond the wipe or physical destruction we perform, you remain responsible for removing any accounts, subscriptions or licences tied to your equipment before collection.
What Happens to Collected Equipment
Once collected, equipment becomes ours to reuse, refurbish, recycle or resell as we see fit. We aim to keep as much technology out of landfill as possible.
Limitation of Liability
We take reasonable care when collecting and handling your equipment. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of the Service, including data loss on any device you provide to us — you are responsible for backing up any data you wish to keep before collection. Nothing in these terms limits any consumer guarantee that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
Security
Our website and quote form use industry-standard protections (including bot and abuse prevention). While we take reasonable steps to keep our systems secure, no online system can be guaranteed 100% free of unauthorised access, and we are not liable for events outside our reasonable control, including malicious third-party attacks on our service providers.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
